What is Cybernetic Transposition?

Everything you do runs on an operating system you can’t see: the beliefs, attitudes and assumptions in your unconscious mind. And when it counts, it’s that operating system, not your conscious intention, that decides what you do. When your conscious goals and your unconscious priorities pull in different directions, you get friction, stress and stalled results. You want something, and it doesn’t.

Cybernetic Transposition (CT) is a structured system for working directly with that operating system. It resolves conflicting unconscious intentions and harmonises them with what you consciously want, so your whole mind works on the same objective. You translate your objective into a complete imaginary experience, seen, heard and felt, that every part of your mind can agree on. Your unconscious then invents the way there, and your actions follow on their own, easily and joyfully.

The name says how it works. Cybernetics comes from the Greek for “steersman,” and CT puts your conscious mind back at the helm. Transposition means taking a success you already own in any area of life and transposing it into the area where you want more.

CT was created by Stuart Lichtman, who studied engineering, psychology and artificial intelligence at M.I.T. He taught the first training in 1981. Refined over more than 40 years, it has been used by over 100,000 people, including individuals from Fortune 500 companies and government organisations. For students who complete the work as assigned, the success rate is approaching 100%.

CT is not a single win. Once you know how to interface with your unconscious, you have a practice for raising your quality of life year after year, and staying forever young at heart while you do it.

Why learn CT with Shane?

Because Shane is CT’s chosen successor. In Cash in a Flash, Stuart Lichtman named Shane M. English his Master Licensee and chosen successor for teaching CT to the world. Today Shane is the sole and exclusive licensor of the CT technology and has overseen its delivery worldwide since 2021. When you train with Shane, you learn CT as Lichtman designed it: one integrated framework, not a fragmented set of techniques.

Because he brings nearly 30 years of doing this work. Shane has led experiential transformational training programmes since 2005. He is recognised for his expertise in organisational development and family dynamics, and has worked directly with families and teens in crisis across the United States, Asia, Mexico, Jamaica and Central America.

Because he understands results under pressure. Before personal development, Shane was a senior operations leader at FedEx Corporation, managing more than 500 employees at one of its largest U.S. service centres. He knows the world CT’s students live in: targets, teams and timelines. He teaches CT as a system that produces specific outcomes, not a theory to admire.

Because you’re coached, not left with a book. Reading about CT is one thing. Clearing the blocker that stops you applying it is another. In Shane’s training you’re coached through each process until it works, and you learn processes that are only taught in person. Between the four weekend modules you have one-on-one Zoom coaching from Shane and his head coach, Vivian Fung, a certified performance coach and certified CT coach. You’re never figuring it out alone.
